Habitat for Humanity of Greenville County<\/a> has spent the past 40 years expanding homeownership opportunities in Upstate South Carolina.<\/span><\/p>\n

The nonprofit organization has launched the 40th Anniversary Community Collection to commemorate this milestone. LaTonya Phillips, CEO and president of Habitat Greenville, said the multifaceted build project represents a strategic expansion of the organization\u2019s service models and a bold commitment to the future of affordable housing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHabitat has been a cornerstone of stability for local families, but as we celebrate this legacy, we find ourselves at a critical juncture,\u201d Phillips said. \u201cIn a community where collaboration is the fabric of our identity, the rising risk to affordable homeownership has never been more pressing.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Several new initiatives will be completed as part of the Community Collection, including the construction of the organization\u2019s first duplex at 101 A\/B Sturtevant St. <\/span>Habitat Greenville will also build a four-bedroom home at 600 Pendleton Road. <\/span>In addition, Habitat Greenville announced a new <\/span>$400,000 campaign to raise funding for the organization\u2019s future growth and sustainability.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Phillips said the Community Collection is not just a celebration of where we have been, but a blueprint for where we are going. Since 1985, Habitat Greenville has built more than 430 homes and renovated 330 existing homes.<\/span><\/p>\n
