This is work that matters.\u201d \u2014LaTonya Phillips, president and CEO of Habitiat for Humanity<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe bring people together to build homes and communities,\u201d she said. \u201cI feel that I am doing the work that I was put here to do. I don\u2019t take that lightly.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A native of Danville, Kentucky, Philips moved to Greenville almost a decade ago when her husband, <a href=\"https:\/\/upstatebusinessjournal.com\/?s=carlos+phillips\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Carlos<\/a>, was hired as the president and CEO of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greenvillechamber.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Greenville Chamber of Commerce<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Having lived in cities like Louisville, Kentucky, Birmingham, Alabama, and Alpharetta, Georgia, Phillips said she loves the community and thinks one of Greenville\u2019s strengths is the community\u2019s ability to come together.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She sees that play out daily through <a href=\"https:\/\/habitatgreenville.org\/about-us\/our-impact\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Habitat Greenville\u2019s work<\/a> and that of its collaborative partners working to improve the lives of people and families.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That work is guided by the principle that healthy families make healthy communities.
