The South Carolina Association for Middle Level Education recently named Sarah Evanson-Atkinson the recipient of the 2026 Dr. Randy Wall Distinguished Service Award.
Evanson-Akinson serves as an international teacher-coach for Greenville County Schools. In this role, she supports more than 60 international educators across 35 schools in the district. Evanson-Atkinson has worked in middle level education for more than two decades with previous experience as a classroom teacher and instructional coach.
The Dr. Randy Wall Distinguished Service Award recognizes individuals who helped advance middle level education across South Carolina. The award was presented at the South Carolina Association for Middle Level Education’s Annual Conference in late February. Evanson-Atkinson said she is deeply honored to receive the award.
“This recognition reflects the collective work of the many educators, leaders and students I’ve had the privilege to learn alongside,” Evanson-Atkinson said. “I remain committed to advancing and innovating the field of education and supporting the incredible educators who make that work possible every day.”
The South Carolina Association for Middle Level Education supports educators who serve young adolescent learners. Evanson-Atkinson currently serves as the organization’s professional learning director.
