The filing period for the Nov. 4 general election in the city of Greenville closed March 31.
A primary election will be held June 10, but none of the qualified candidates are contested within their own party.
Four seats are up for re-election including the at-large council seat left by outgoing City Councilman Russell Stall. Here are the candidates who will appear on the ballot:
City Council — At Large
- Matt Alexander (Republican)
- Tina Belge (Democrat)
City Council — District 2
- Lillian Brock Flemming (Democrat) – incumbent
- Mike Kilgore (Republican)
City Council — District 4
- Wil Brasington (Republican) – incumbent
Commissioner of Public Works
- Deb Sofield (Republican) – incumbent
The cities of Mauldin, Simpsonville, Travelers Rest, Fountain Inn and Greer hold nonpartisan elections and will open filing for the Nov. 4 election on July 15. That filing window will be open until Aug. 15.
