The state Department of Transportation will host a public information meeting April 16 to share details about a proposed road diet of East Main Street in Spartanburg.
The open house meeting will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. April 16 at the Mary Black Foundation, 349 E. Main St. in Spartanburg.
SCDOT representatives will be on hand to answer questions and provide details about the proposed road diet along East Main Street between Converse and East St. John streets.
The project proposes to modify lane configurations along that portion of East Main Street to reduce traffic from two lanes in each direction to one vehicle lane in each direction with a center turn lane and bike lanes on each side.
