Greenville Women Giving, a women’s collective giving organization, announced May 20 it has awarded $550,000 in total grant funding to 11 Greenville County nonprofit organizations.
GWG seeks to fund worthy projects in Greenville County that may have the potential for high impact and significant positive change in the areas of arts and culture, education, environment, and health and human services. For the 2021 grants, the organization opted to allow money to be used toward supporting or expanding services, covering operating expenses, program development, capacity funding, and improving effectiveness and efficiency.

Photo provided by Greenville Women Giving“COVID-19 created so many overwhelming needs throughout our community that we knew the highest impact we could have was to create more opportunities for more nonprofits to support more people,” said GWG co-chair Susan Cinquemani. “Our goal this year was to award 10, $50,000 grants, but thanks to the strength of our membership we were thrilled to be able to award 11.”

Since 2006, GWG has awarded 134 grants totaling over $7 million and grown to over 500 members.
