Community Foundation of Greenville
The Community Foundation of Greenville recently unveiled its ambitious five-year strategic plan, setting the course for the organization’s future impact and growth from 2025 to 2030. This comprehensive plan builds upon the foundation’s long-standing commitment to improving the quality of life in Greenville County while adapting to evolving needs. The foundation’s mission focuses on the vision of making Greenville County a thriving community.

The priorities adopted by the CFG board of directors focus on three key strategies:
Increase our assets to $150 million to expand CFG’s reach. Since its inception, donors have entrusted the Community Foundation with the responsibility to ensure their values are expressed for the good of Greenville County. Their gifts were critical during COVID and in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. Unrestricted bequests provided the financial resources to move quickly during the pandemic and in the aftermath of the devastating flood. Endowments created by donors to support housing and food security are making investments annually based on instructions that guide us long after their lifetimes.
Grow the Annual Campaign to $750,000 by our 75th anniversary in 2031. Donors to CFG’s Annual Campaign provide the financial underpinning for the stability and resilience so crucial to our mission. Each contribution to the Annual Campaign is an unrestricted investment allowing us to act with agility and urgency, providing a lifeline to our nonprofit colleagues. By increasing the number and size of donations, we will have the flexibility to respond to opportunities and challenges alike.
In 2025, the Community Foundation will be able to support a new initiative, Greenville Together: A Home for All, as well as continued investments in OnTrack Greenville, CommunityWorks and Hispanic Alliance, in addition to our Capacity Building Grants.
New residents continue to move to Greenville County, bringing their own traditions of generosity. As they contemplate ongoing charitable engagement and estate planning, we will facilitate the exchange of information and help establish connections with agencies that match their interests. We’ll join local funding partners in weaving our new neighbors into the rich tapestry of cultural, civic and charitable endeavors. Together, we become a patron of innovation, artistic expression, conservation and compassion expressed across Greenville County.
Foster an environment of organizational excellence through strong staff and board leadership. We will recruit outstanding professionals to join our small staff and provide them with excellent professional development opportunities. In addition, the Community Foundation benefits from board members of diverse professional and civic backgrounds. Their wisdom and experience provide the planning, resource development and operational expertise to ensure the foundation maintains a focus on its mission and commitment to donor intent with the agility necessary to seize new opportunities.
As we complete a planning period that saw the opening of Unity Park, the 20th anniversary of Artisphere and major milestones for the Meyer Center and the Peace Center among others, we are excited about building on our role of bridging philanthropy and purpose while preparing for a future full of exciting opportunities to serve.
