Mission statement
The Center for Developmental Services, a local nonprofit in Greenville, is a pioneer in providing collaborative care for children with developmental delays and disabilities. The goal is simple — to make caring for children with special needs easier and more effective by linking medical and support services in a single location. CDS has been recognized nationally as a successful example of how to identify, care for and treat children who have developmental challenges.
Impact
CDS provides services for more than 8,500 Upstate South Carolina children with developmental delays and disabilities each year. CDS and their partners collectively provide evaluation, therapy, treatment and family support to ensure the best outcome for all the children they serve.
Leadership

Fundraisers and events
The Eggs Benefit is the largest fundraiser of the year. The 2025 Eggs Benefit will be Oct. 2 at the Poinsett Club in Greenville from 7:30-9 a.m. In addition, there is a community golf tournament in the fall.
Volunteer opportunities
The most popular volunteer opportunity is the Autumn Spooktacular event, where staff and CDS partners and families dress up for a spooky good time trick-or-treating throughout the CDS facility. There is a volunteer board of directors and other special event volunteer opportunities throughout the year.
Giving opportunities
There are many ways to support the vital work of CDS, including unrestricted gifts, restricted gifts, endowment gifts, other investments such as required minimum distributions or life insurance policies, bequeaths, or gifts of stock. All gifts are appreciated and invest in programs and future sustainability so CDS can be there for families in need.
