Community Journals publications won 27 awards and the President’s Cup for Excellence during the South Carolina Press Association annual meeting and awards ceremony March 6 in Columbia.
Community Journals is located at 581 Perry Ave. in Greenville and publishes Greenville Journal, Upstate Business Journal, TOWN Magazine and atHome.
Jay King, a reporter for Greenville Journal and Upstate Business Journal, won the Ken Baldwin Award for Excellence in Business Journalism. The award is given annually to recognize the best business coverage in the state.
TOWN Magazine took first place statewide among all publications in the Innovation category for its coverage of the annual Charitable Giving Awards.
The President’s Cup for Excellence was awarded based on the overall performance of Community Journals publications in the competition. The staff took home 13 first place awards – the most among the largest weekly publications in the state. Community Journals also won the president’s cup in 2020 and 2021.
