Greenville Housing Fund has officially become an affiliate of NeighborWorks America, a congressionally chartered nonprofit that supports community development nationwide.
NeighborWorks America provides grants, training and assistance to a network of approximately 250 local organizations. The Greenville Housing Fund is the first organization in Upstate South Carolina to join NeighborWorks America’s network and the second affiliate in South Carolina.
Bryan Brown, president and CEO of the Greenville Housing Fund, said this is a milestone achievement. The Greenville Housing Fund announced its new affiliation on Aug. 19
“The NeighborWorks affiliation strengthens our capacity in a whole variety of ways, enabling us to do more in and for Greenville,” Brown said. “There are new resources that can be tapped, and best practices and innovative successes that we can bring back from our new network partners to apply in our community.”
For example, staff from the Greenville Housing Fund and a local nonprofit partner plan to attend the NeighborWorks Community Leadership Training Institute in October. The three-day training aims to strengthen the neighborhood revitalization and affordable housing initiatives that the two entities plan to launch.

Tiffany Santagati, the Greenville Housing Fund’s vice president of operations, led the organization’s effort to apply to NeighborWorks America. She said the national non-profit only opens the door to new affiliates every few years.
“We submitted an initial application in 2023 that was followed by multiple site visits and rigorous assessments, plus new reporting requirements and commitments from GHF,” Santagati said. “We are so proud to join only five new affiliates from across the country during this application cycle.”
