Georgian restaurant Keipi will host a two-day fundraising event Oct. 24-25 in Greenville.
The Art of the Tamada will be be held at Keipi in collaboration with First Things Foundation and Trueline. Keipi is a mission-driven restaurant benefitting First Things Foundation which focuses its mission on local improvements in impoverished communities. Trueline is coordinating ticketing and is an upcoming live music venue in downtown Greenville.
The event will meld the restaurant’s cuisine and traditions with the foundation mission. It pays homage to the Georgian tradition of supra, a feast led by a dining guide or toastmaster know as Tamada.
Here are some events through out the two days:
Oct. 24
- Noon-5 p.m.: An happy hour early open for the restaurant with food and drinks specials.
- 6-9 p.m.: Tamada 101 – Training from toast masters and a meal similar to supra but with more handcrafted experiences allowing attendees to make their own order.
- 9-11 p.m.: Live DJ, dancing and drink specials
Oct. 25
- 9-10 a.m.: Coffee at Due South with a DJ
- 10 a.m.: Art of Tamada, class two
- 11 a.m.-noon: Speakers at DZN Studios
- 6 p.m.: Supra feast – An opportunity to experience supra with two bars and Georgian bites with seats at the table with ticket purchase.
- 7-9 p.m.: Taste of Keipi. Those who do not want to partake in the supra feast can attend Taste of Keipi where ticketed wine tastings or a curated picnic.
- 8-10 p.m.: Live music
- 10 p.m.: Live DJ
