More than 800 runners hit the streets and parks of downtown Greenville on a cool and damp morning. The race started at 8 a.m. near the corner of South Main and West Broad streets, with runners gathering earlier in the lobby of the nearby Courtyard by Marriott Downtown Greenville. The course exited the central business district along West Broad and Washington streets, then circled through Unity Park along the Prisma Health Swamp Rabbit Trail before returning to River and Main streets.
The race was organized by Greenville Track Club and sponsored for the first time by Greenville Journal.
“We’re really proud to sponsor such an amazing race in downtown Greenville,” said Mark Johnston, publisher of Greenville Journal, and CEO and president of Community Journals. “What a great turnout! We want to thank our partners at the Greenville Track Club and all the runners who participated.”
