Friends of Reedy River volunteers worked Feb. 7 to help rehabilitate an area near the Prisma Health Swamp Rabbit Trail under the Academy Street Bridge. The group removed invasive species and cleared brush for future tree planting.
The urban open space will include native gardens, pollinator habitats and river overlooks. It will also improve water quality, stabilize the river bank and reduce stormwater runoff, according to the city of Greenville.
