A private dedication was held March 7 for the Leap of Faith Overlook honoring the life of Lindsey Bates Motley at Cancer Survivors Park in downtown Greenville.
The ceremony included remarks from family members and physicians, a blessing of the overlook, an award presentation and the announcement of the new Sunshine for the Soul interfaith prayer program. Following the dedication, attendees were invited to the Center for Hope & Healing for a public colon cancer awareness event featuring educational resources and community partners.
“Lindsey wanted to share her story so others would benefit from it. I think she would love this celebration honoring all those touched by cancer alongside her family launching a special program of education and prevention for those still here who will continue the story,” said Kay Roper, CSPA executive director, in a news release. “Together, we honor a life of light and carry forward a commitment to prevention, early detection and healing.”
Tom Bates, Lindsey’s father, was presented the CSPA Founder’s Award.
