The city of Fountain Inn recently received Main Street South Carolina’s 2025 Excellence on Main Street Award for the restoration of the historic Ellison Flour Mill.
The Ellison Flour Mill originally opened in 1940 and closed in the 1970s. The site was redeveloped into the Mill at Fountain Inn by Bryan Beal, CEO of Innovative Hospitality and Development. The Mill at Fountain Inn opened in 2024 and features a food hall, a brewery, a pizza kitchen, an outdoor green space and more.
“The restoration of the historic Ellison Flour Mill in Fountain Inn creates a unique experience for residents and visitors while also establishing itself as an anchor to the downtown district,” said Jenny Boulware, Main Street South Carolina manager.
Main Street South Carolina, a part of the Municipal Association of South Carolina, empowers communities across the state to revitalize their downtowns and commercial districts. The Excellence on Main Street Award recognized the top project among the winners of the annual Main Street Inspiration Awards.
